Strong performance by Jeffrey Herlings in Uddevalla

Uddevalla, the historic home of Swedish motocross and the annual host of the MXGP of Sweden, once again delivered a spectacular weekend of racing. The track saw some changes to its layout for 2025 but remained built on the familiar soft, rough, and stony surface. Under sunny skies, a large crowd of spectators lined the circuit. On Sunday, Jeffrey Herlings produced two strong starts and secured second place in both motos. The Dutchman came close to the holeshot on both occasions and in the second race benefitted from a late crash by Isak Gifting, allowing him to take another runner-up finish. With a total of 44 points, the former world champion returned to the podium and celebrated with champagne. Next up is another sand challenge: in just seven days Herlings will compete at his home Grand Prix in Arnhem. The event also marks the final round in Western Europe before the triple-header in Turkey, China, and Australia. Jeffrey Herlings, 2nd and 2nd for 2nd overall in MXGP:“Really good. Three times second! In the last moto I felt quite close and was pushing hard, but I ran out of tear-offs and couldn’t keep going after the leader. So 2-2 for 2nd overall is not bad at all after being back on the bike for only two and a half weeks. Now I’m really looking forward to my home GP in Arnhem. Hopefully we can be back on the box there. I won last year and it would be great to repeat. I just need to improve my starts, the rest I know I can do. My physical condition is getting better and better.”

Jeffrey Herlings Shows Promising Pace at the MXGP of Flanders

Jeffrey Herlings of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team delivered an encouraging performance at the Grand Prix of Flanders in Lommel — a surprising display considering he had not been able to train on the bike for 4.5 weeks due to a broken collarbone. Herlings already showed strong speed during Saturday’s time practice, clocking the second-fastest time — just a fraction slower than Lucas Coenen, who topped the session. A poor start in the qualifying heat limited Herlings to a ninth-place finish, but he was determined to battle for top-five positions in Sunday’s motos. In both motos on Sunday, Herlings rode with the front group. In the second moto, he even took the early lead and built up a sizeable gap over second place. However, due to a lack of arm strength, he struggled to maintain control and suffered several crashes. These setbacks cost him a potential podium finish, and he ended both motos in eighth place. Jeffrey Herlings commented:“The speed was there and could be seen in practice, first moto and the second… but I haven’t done anything for four weeks and I’m lacking some arm muscle and power. Fitness-wise I was quite OK, I think I could have gone 3-3 today thanks to that but my shoulder wouldn’t let me. I couldn’t hold on that well and started crashing. Overall, I’m quite happy about my riding but I was on the deck too much. Onto Sweden, and I’m hopeful with three-four weeks back on the bike I’ll be competitive again for the final three GPs.” This coming Sunday, Herlings will line up to race at the international event on the Keiheuvel circuit in Mol, Belgium.

Jeffrey Herlings to race the MXGP in Lommel

Jeffrey Herlings of the Red Bull KTM Factory team will line up this coming weekend at the Belgian Grand Prix in Lommel. Herlings broke his collarbone during a training session in Arnhem a month ago and has resumed riding this week. This is great news for the fans in Lommel, as Herlings is considered one of the best sand riders in the world — and despite his lack of race rhythm, he just might deliver a surprise!

Herlings to sit out Finnish MXGP after collarbone setback

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jeffrey Herlings, winner of the German and Latvian Grands Prix this season with his works KTM 450 SX-F, will miss round 13 of 20 of 2025 MXGP at the KymiRing and for the Finnish Grand Prix on 12-13 July. The 30-year-old suffered a broken right collarbone while completing a team training session at Arnhem earlier this week – the sandy circuit that will host the Dutch GP on 24 August. After careful checks and diagnosis in the Netherlands, Herlings was advised to initially try a natural healing process, as opposed to surgery, which will be analyzed further next week.  Herlings has won three motos, scored two Pole Positions and walked the MXGP podium twice for his respective overall victories this season. The Dutchman entered the campaign late after recovering from a right knee reconstruction during the winter but has already gathered enough points to sit 6th in the championship standings.  Jeffrey’s convalescence means he will not travel to Finland. He and the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team will then assess the state of his recovery on a daily basis to plan a return to action.

Jeffrey Herlings Fifth at the Grand Prix of Great Britain

Jeffrey Herlings of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing had to settle for fifth place overall at the twelfth round of the MXGP season in Matterley Basin, Great Britain. The Dutchman, who came into the weekend in great form after back-to-back Grand Prix victories in Germany and Latvia, rode to two fourth-place finishes in the motos. The championship left Central Europe and arrived at the iconic Motocross of Nations circuit and regular British Grand Prix venue for the past twenty years: Matterley Basin. Located near the city of Winchester and close to the southern coast, the circuit was scorched by high early summer temperatures. The English soil was hard-packed, fast, and rough for the twelfth Grand Prix of 2025. Herlings started the weekend strongly by winning Saturday’s qualifying race, securing his second pole position of the season. In Sunday’s first moto, he looked set for a fourth consecutive race win, but a mistake with three laps to go dropped him to fourth place. In the second moto, a few small errors and tricky track conditions made things more difficult. Despite this, Herlings stayed close to the front group and crossed the line in fourth once again. “The win on Saturday was fine, but with two or three laps to go in the first moto I made a mistake while going for the lead,” Herlings explained afterward. “In the second moto, the track was extremely difficult for passing — almost impossible. 4-4 today — it wasn’t my best day. We’ll work hard toward Finland. I’m sixth in the standings now, but I’m still aiming for third place. That’s realistic and achievable.”The next round of the season takes place in mid-July in Finland, where MXGP will visit the brand-new KymiRing circuit for the first time.

Jeffrey Herlings Wins ADAC Masters in Dreetz

Jeffrey Herlings of the Red Bull KTM Factory team won all three motos of the ADAC Masters in Dreetz. Herlings was in a class of his own on the very demanding sand track. He already showed his skills in qualifying by setting a fast lap time that earned him pole position. In each of the three motos, he moved into second place early on, studied the leader’s lines for a few laps, and then took over the lead. In the first moto on Saturday, Maximilian Spies initially led the race before having to give way to Herlings. In Sunday’s two races, Max Nagl grabbed the holeshot, but he too had to acknowledge Herlings’ superiority, as the Dutchman was clearly in top form on the Dreetz circuit. “The track lived up to its reputation: it was very sandy and demanding in Dreetz, which I really enjoyed. I wasn’t satisfied with my starts, but I was with my riding and the results,” said a pleased Herlings. For Herlings, this event served as a solid preparation for the twelfth round of the World Championship at Britain’s Matterley Basin, which is scheduled for the upcoming weekend.

Jeffrey Herlings – It feels great to win again

Jeffrey Herlings of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing has claimed his second consecutive Grand Prix victory. During the Grand Prix of Latvia, Herlings won the qualifying heat as well as both motos, securing the 109th Grand Prix win of his career. MXGP changed country, track, and surface for the first Grand Prix to open the second half of the 2025 season. The series moved from Germany to Latvia, from the tight and undulating layout of Talkessel to the more open and flatter terrain of Kegums, and from rough hardpack to loose, sandy bumps. The weather remained unpredictable following sun and showers in Germany. In Kegums, Saturday was mostly sunny and warm, once again featuring a full European racing program. Herlings immediately felt good on Saturday. He had no trouble putting in a fast lap and ended up topping the time sheets. In the qualifying heat, he grabbed the holeshot and rode a controlled race. Despite pressure from Lucas Coenen, Herlings kept his composure and secured pole position. The skies remained mostly blue on Sunday, while the race action was painted orange. Herlings had a strong start in the first moto, building a gap from the opening lap. He managed the race and led Lucas Coenen to the finish with less than two seconds between them – but nearly a minute ahead of the rest of the field. The second moto was a repeat: this time Coenen took the holeshot, but Herlings quickly moved into the lead. He steadily built his advantage and went on to claim his first 1-1 of the season, his second GP win in a row, and the 109th of his career. The full 60-point haul moves him up to 9th in the championship standings. France, Germany, and now Latvia: MXGP has earned a break and will cool the engines before the British Grand Prix at Matterley Basin in England on June 21–22. Jeffrey Herlings:“Really good! Let’s repeat this nine more times! I’m really thankful. Lucas and Romain [Febvre] were pushing hard so I have to give it up to them. I knew it wouldn’t be easy but it’s great to win again – I got a 1-1 last year and to have another; I’m pleased with that. Let’s keep this ball rolling. I know it won’t be easy but we’ll do what we can.”
